The frame size relates to the size of the glazing, the frame overall size is slightly bigger.
Frame details
All our frames are UK made at our Nottingham works and not imported. The quality aluminium frame moulding profile is 8mm wide x 20mm deep with back loading for rigidty. Unless square all frames can be used either upright (portrait) or horizontal (landscape). The frame backing board is 3mm MDF board with two hangers for either horizontal or vertical hanging.
Glazing details
Acrylic safety glazing is fitted as standard. We use 1.8 – 2mm extruded non-yellowing acrylic with 92% light transmission for sparkling clarity. Thick acrylic stops the distortion and crazing that comes with cheap 1mm styrene/acrylic/plastic and it does not break easily. The majority of our competitors use cheap styrene which apart from yellowing quickly gives very poor light transmission and will dull the picture.
