SuperBond Premium Dry Mount Tissue is heat activated and is suited to bonding most substrates used in framing workshops and in display studios.
SuperBond is suitable for mounting posters, prints, photographs, inkjets, pastels, charcoals, colour copies, maps, charts, blueprints and plans – almost anything on paper – to many kinds of substrates.
Suitable substrates include Mountboards, white liner boards, pulp and grey boards, foam centred boards, hardboard, MDF and similar.
SuperBond Premium Dry Mount Tissue information:
- Works in most heated flat-bed, mechanical and vacuum presses, and hot roller presses.
- 50 gsm porous pH neutral tissue paper base, with a 12gsm adhesive coating on each face. Often known simply as SuperBond DMT.
- Activation temperature range is 70° – 115°C and it bonds while hot. Dwell time varies with several factors, but 1 – 2 minutes is normal. Ideal settings will be determined with experience. Always test, some inks can change tone under heat.
- The melt-flow characteristics are designed to grab and hold materials during the bonding process. The strength of the final bond is exceptional and permanent. Let the workpiece cool on a flat surface before handling. Use a suitable weight if available.
- Roll storage: Blocking, where the layers on the roll stick together, can happen when a roll is left on a shelf. Rolls are best stored on-end or suspended on bars or suspended in the box. Keep dust-free.
